バイエルン vs フランクフルト

今回はブンデスリーガ首位のバイエルンミュンヘンと２人の日本人プレーヤーが所属するフランクフルトの試合内容を英語でまとめました。

The first half

Till 10th minute, Bayern Munich were slightly playing better. But since then they changed the gear and got the first goal in the 16th. 

The goal was from a reasonably good cut back by Muller from the left frank and Goretzka finished the task in the center. Even before that, Bayern started dominating the game. Lewandowski hit the post from the corner and Pavard missed a huge opportunity headed straight at Trapp, the Frankfurt goalkeeper. 

For a little more than a couple of minutes after Frankfurt conceded the goal, they tried to get a goal back and actually had some chances. However, these were half chances at best, and couldn’t make any out of it.

 

The second half of the first half, the game became a bit stable. In this period, Bayern seemed slightly off, and left some space between the two center halves, Boateng and Alaba, and Neuer. Frankfurt attempted to exploit the huge pocket, but  some chances they got didn’t come to fruition because Neuer filled the gap as a sweeper keeper as always.

The last 10 minutes, the different story. Bayern again stepped up the gear and swarmed towards the opponent’s goal. Thanks to his formidable pace, Davis reached a loose ball, again, at the left hand side, and whipped a cross. Muller scored from a point-blank range in the 41th minute.

 

The second half

The game turned into something chaotic at the start of the second half. 

First, Lewandowski scored from a cross by Coman in the first minute. At this time, Bayern seemingly already wrapped up their 3 points at home, but Frankfurt got 2 goals back out of nowhere. 

They got their first corner and found the net from it. Bayern players couldn’t react well to the ball deflected a couple of time from the corner spot and Hiteregger scuffled it in. A goal back. And then just 4 minute after, Frankfurt got another corner, and this time Hinteregger got a clear header into the back of the net. This made the game back on the line. 

Both teams were seeking the goal and another one turned into Bayern’s path. after a few minutes of shambles, Alphonso Davis regained the 2-goal lead at the 62th minute. He cut in from the left but gave away a ball. Unfortunately Frankfurt defense line panicked and couldn’t clear the ball out, so he got it back and tucked it in with his weaker foot. 

 

Even now, with 2 goal advantage, Bayern couldn’t case off. They had a defensive problem in this match. Although they continued high pressing, sometimes not in unity, so they the gap between their lines, the front line, the midfielder’s and the back line. It allowed Frankfurt to create a lot of counterattacks.

Luckily, they didn’t concede and got their 5th goal courtesy of Hiteregger, Frankfurt center half. He, who has scored twice, put the ball into his own net this time around the final quarter of the game. 

Now that the scoreline is 5-2, both team got a little complacent. And at the end, Bayern ended the game at east. However, they should fix their defensive issues as soon as possible before the derby match against Dortmund coming just in 3 days.
