実況やコメンテーターが試合中に実際に使う、サッカーの英語の用語をご紹介します。日本語の実況で使用される用語との兼ね合いを考え、意訳しました。

- work rate 仕事量
His work rate is amazing. 「彼はよく動きますね」
- tenacious キープ力がある
He's been very tanacious in this match. 「この試合、彼のキープ力が目を見張りますね」
- save キーパーのセーブ
What a save! 「止めたー！」
- gamble in ゴール前に飛び込む
They have to gamble in more. 「もっとゴール前に飛び込まないと」
- launch a counterattack カウンターをする
Now, they are launching a counterattack. 「ここからアーセナルのカウンター！」
- deflect 敵や味方にボールがあったって軌道が変わる
The ball is deflected in! 「軌道が変わって入ったー！」
- heavy touch タッチが大きい
The touch was too heavy. 「トラップが大きすぎましたね」
- control トラップ「ボールコントロール」
He controls passes so well. 「彼のボールコントロールに優れていますね」
It was an amazing control. 「うまくトラップしました！」
- break the deadlock 均衡を破る
Messi broke the deadlock as usual. 「メッシがいつも通り均衡を破りました」
- cross the face of the goal （クロスなどに対して）誰もボールを触らない
It just crossed the face of the goal. 「クロスに誰も合わせられない！」
- the back of the net ゴールネット
Ronaldo found the back of the net. 「ロナウドがゴールネットを揺らしました！」
- interception ボール奪取
He intercepted the ball. 「彼がボールを取りました」
- cut out ボールカット
The cross was cut out by Pogba. 「クロスはポグバによって阻まれました」
- letoff 命拾い
Giroud missed the huge chance! it was a letoff for United. 「ジルーがこのチャンスを活かせず！ユナイテッドは命拾いしました。
- to find the target 得点する
Suarez finds the target again! 「スアレス！また得点を決めました！」

- skipper キャプテン
Real Madrid's skipper, Ramos is not going to start tonight. 「レアル・マドリードのキャプテン、ラモスは今日はスタメンではないようです」
- ○○'s side ○○のチーム
Moriyasu's side are now taking a lead. 「森保のチーム（日本）が現在リード中」
- pecking order チーム内の序列
He has to play well tonight if he wants to go up in Chelsea's pecking order. 「チェルシー内のチームの序列を考えると、彼はここでいいプレーを見せなければいけません」
- joint 関節
It seems like he's got a damage on his joint. 「どうやら関節を痛めたようです」
